Six Areas Of Learning

Personal Social and Emotional Development

Children are encouraged to be confident and independent in the classroom. They gain an understanding of both right and wrong and learn to build relationships with others. The children are taught to share fairly, take turns and express their emotions clearly and appropriately.

Communication; Language and Literacy

Children communicate with both adults and their classmates. They practice and extend their range of vocabulary and communication. They are encouraged to explore, enjoy and learn about words in a range of different contexts.

Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy

Children are exposed to measurements, pattern, shape and numbers. Through songs, practical and written activities they gain an understanding of counting, number recognition and mathematical language.

Knowledge and Understanding of the World

Children solve problems, make decisions, experiment, plan and question. They are encouraged to learn more about their environment, people, cultures, places and events.

Creative Development

Children explore and share thoughts, ideas and feelings through a variety of creative activities. They are encouraged to use their imagination through art and design, music, dance, theater, role play and voices.

Physical Development

Children develop and practice fine and gross motor skills. They are encouraged to work with sports equipment to develop confidence, hand eye co-ordination and control.
